Manuel Cajuda, the coach behind a big double

Sereno and Geromel are again, together.  Cologne was back to join the duo created by  the Portuguese coach
The loan of Sereno to Cologne, joins again one of the most efficient dual core of Portuguese football in recent years. The FC Porto player crosses again with Geromel, what replays a couple that gave a show at Vitória de Guimarães and that has begun to be drawn on the head of Manuel Cajuda. When the coach arrived at the club of Minho, the team was discredited and closer to go down to Division II than to return to the Zon Sagres League. One of the first measures of Manuel Cajuda was to rebuild the defense, joining Sereno, who was not used to Geromel, who had been hired at the beginning of the season, to the Desportivo de Chaves.
At that time, Manuel Cajuda achieved the feat of recovering in the league and, thus, ensuring the return of Vitória de Guimarães to the Premier League. The rest is a story of incredible success. A team with limited financial resources, set up by Manuel Cajuda tactical ability, who emerged a defensive solidity ensured by a new dual core, composed by Geromel and Serene.
The season ended with a sensational third place in the championship, ahead of Benfica, coached by Camacho and two points of second-placed Sporting by Paulo Bento. Also in this defense, composed by Manuel Cajuda, excelled  Andrezinho, who also plays, this time in Cologne. There are three players  the Portuguese coach helped to project internationally.
Brazilian defender Geromel, would ultimately be the most expensive transfer ever in Vitória, until then, while Sereno would later be transferred to Valladolid,  first and later to FC Porto. The right lateral Andrezinho ended contract with Vitória and moved to the German football. One of the best defensive works of Manuel Cajuda career will be now, every week, on display in the Bundesliga.
